College Sweethearts

She stood five foot eleven and shaped like a number two pencil. We were introduced by a mutual friend. It wasn’t love at first sight, but we both were curious about each other. There was mystery in her eyes.

She would bait me in with her natural indentation cheeks. Sometimes I would fall for the okie doke and buy her confection of sweets to show my affectionate side.

As time pass, we grew fond of each other;
became boyfriend and girlfriend by a pinky swear. I shared my dream; she told me her vision. Together we created provision for our mission; hoping that our dreams would come to fruition.

Is marriage in our future? I think that’s too soon; but we love each other, so, let’s jump the broom.

Let’s go get hitch at the court; are you going to tell your mother; nah, she is too religious and won’t support.

My mother is one dimensional. My father and her marriage was traditional. She will only believe that our love is sensual.

The time has come for the tassels to be turn to the left side. The world is a big place; we graduated from life with a degree in discovery.

Now a love story, we stood the test of time.
Fewer couples have lasted but ours is divine.
23 years happily married reflecting back as college sweethearts.
